Route a leadership announcement, recommendation rehearsal, feedback conversation, or written assignment through the relevant focused skills while applying curated personal voice and preserving human ownership.

Follow along

  1. Download the Section 4 starter materials and unzip them, or copy the files below into a folder named skills/communication-and-people-leadership.
  2. Give your AI tool the permitted material for your message or conversation and ask it to read skills/communication-and-people-leadership/SKILL.md and follow it. Named skill loading depends on your tool, so an explicit request to read the file is the general route.
  3. Keep the component skills beside it, in the same skills folder, with the shared skills/meetings-and-follow-through/references/working-contract.md (on the meeting workflow page). Each skill has its own page:

Before you rely on it

These are authored course materials. They have not been run in a live agent yet, so nothing here proves that a tool will load them, follow them or save anything. Try them on the fictional practice files first and check every result yourself.

# Communication and people leadership

Help the leader send messages that sound like them, defend recommendations under pressure, and enter feedback, coaching, or delegation conversations ready to listen. Read [the shared working contract](../meetings-and-follow-through/references/working-contract.md) first.

## Begin from the work

Identify which communication or people-leadership job the leader is preparing:
1. **Curating or updating personal writing guidance** (`personal-voice`).
2. **Adapting a confirmed decision announcement for multiple audiences** (`leadership-communication`).
3. **Rehearsing a spoken recommendation against plausible stakeholder questions** (`conversation-rehearsal`).
4. **Preparing specific feedback and open coaching questions without assuming motives** (`feedback-coaching` + `conversation-rehearsal`).
5. **Preparing an ownership-supporting written assignment for a colleague** (`people-delegation`).

| [leadership-communication](../leadership-communication/SKILL.md) | For team and senior-stakeholder announcements of a confirmed decision | Confirmed decision, `personal-voice` rules, and each reader's work need | Audience-adapted drafts checked against commitment drift |
| [feedback-coaching](../feedback-coaching/SKILL.md) | For 1-on-1 feedback and coaching preparation | Observed actions, verified impact, prior standard, and realistic support | Motive-free opening observation and open coaching question |
| [conversation-rehearsal](../conversation-rehearsal/SKILL.md) | To test a recommendation or feedback opening aloud against plausible pushback | Prepared recommendation or feedback opening and evaluation rubric | Simulated questions or 3 role-play rounds, quoted listening critique, and revised spoken response |
| [people-delegation](../people-delegation/SKILL.md) | When handing ownership of a project or guide to a colleague | Desired outcome, existing notes, support contacts, and return boundaries | 4-part written assignment (result, decision freedom, support, check-in) free of step-by-step micromanagement |
| [leadership-artifact](../leadership-artifact/SKILL.md) | To assemble communication drafts, rehearsal notes, or people-leadership briefs on one page | Verified drafts, curation table, rehearsal exchanges, and written assignment | Navigable communication or people-leadership page (`leadership-communication.html` / `people-leadership-prep.html`) |
