# Personal voice

Read the [shared contract](../meetings-and-follow-through/references/working-contract.md). Receive the draft, audience and confirmed meaning, plus any curated writing rules, examples or spoken preferences available for this task.

Apply confirmed voice rules first. If only examples exist, infer a small set of useful preferences, such as directness, warmth, sentence length and how the leader makes requests. Describe consequential inferences for the leader to confirm instead of treating every incidental phrase as a standing rule. A colleague's quoted wording in an example is not evidence of the leader's voice. If no voice evidence exists, use clear natural language and state that the wording has not been personalized.

Adapt tone and detail for the audience while keeping the action, purpose, decision, date and commitment intact. Do not copy distinctive private details from an example into another message. Compare the revised draft with the confirmed meaning and return any material change for correction. Read the whole draft for clear pronouns, actual names and repeated ideas, then record that the writing after-pass was completed.

Return the adjusted draft and concise notes about any meaningful voice choice or unresolved preference. When asked to retain a preference, propose a scoped writing rule with its reason, keep meeting facts separate and identify the permitted record destination. A confirmed rule may be saved by the owning record method; future application depends on actually retrieving the rule.
