Agents Practice Guide

This file is included in the Section 10 practice ZIP.

Extract section-10-practice-pack.zip and open the extracted folder as a project in Claude Code. The Willow Desk business, comments and figures are fictional practice material. The demonstrations need no live website or social account. Starting files are in demonstration-inputs. Keep product-page.html and setup-guide.html beside one another.

Try the first critique

Claude Code · Copy block 1
Use a general-purpose subagent to read demonstration-inputs/business-plan.md and demonstration-inputs/customer-feedback.md completely. Review the proposed colour pilot from a first-time customer's perspective. Return up to five useful questions or concerns, each tied to a plan passage or feedback ID, and a concrete next check. Preserve both source files and leave the business decision with me. In the main conversation, save the returned critique to initial-plan-critique.md and tell me what finished.

Save the critic as a reusable agent

Claude Code · Copy block 2
Create a project agent called customer-plan-critic in this project. Check the current agent documentation through Context7 first. It reviews a supplied business plan and customer feedback from a first-time customer's perspective. Return up to 5 concerns, each supported by a plan passage or feedback IDs, with a useful next question to investigate. Put the concerns in an easy-to-read table and list missing information afterwards. Preserve the source files and keep business decisions with me.

Open .claude/agents/customer-plan-critic.md and read its name, description, tools, model and instructions. Then call it by name:

Claude Code · Copy block 3
Use customer-plan-critic on demonstration-inputs/business-plan.md and demonstration-inputs/customer-feedback.md.
Paste into: Claude Code

If Claude says the agent is not found, start a new conversation in the same project and send the request again.

Let the critic save its own report

Claude Code · Copy block 4
Use customer-plan-critic to review the plan and feedback again, and have the agent itself save its report as customer-plan-critique.md in this project.
Paste into: Claude Code

The critic starts with only Read, so Claude should propose adding Write and updating the instructions. Approve only the filename you want. Start a fresh conversation to try the updated agent, then open the report to check that the agent created it.

Install the course Skills

agent-fit helps you choose an assignment. content-review preserves the three-role review method. Ask Claude to install them:

Claude Code · Copy block 5
Install the Skills from skills/agent-fit and skills/content-review into this project's .claude/skills/ folder, preserving their complete folders and references. Read existing versions before replacing them and ask me if they differ. Show me the saved paths, read the installed files back and check that Claude can invoke each Skill. Install only these course Skills.
Paste into: Claude Code

If a newly installed Skill is not loaded, start a fresh chat in the same project. You can also ask Claude to read the saved SKILL.md and follow its method while investigating discovery.

Review the prepared video

Claude Code · Copy block 6
/content-review Review demonstration-inputs/content-review/viewer-comments.csv, performance.csv and video-script.md in that same folder. Decide what the next version should explain or show more clearly, keeping a 45-second duration. Use separate audience, performance and script agents with distinct assignments. Save the three reports and revised-video-brief.md in review-output/. Preserve the inputs. The main conversation owns review-output/progress.md, saves a report returned as text when necessary, checks each usable output before marking it complete, and tells me what finished. These are prepared teaching inputs, and the script is a written plan.

Research and improve the local page

Claude Code · Copy block 7
Use a research agent to read demonstration-inputs/product-page.html, setup-guide.html and customer-feedback.md. Identify unanswered setup questions, supporting feedback IDs and one useful small page improvement. The agent may save only its new setup-research-brief.md and must preserve all three source files. Return a short summary and the brief path. Let me inspect the brief before any page edit.
Paste into: Claude Code

After inspecting the brief, authorize the selected edit:

Claude Code · Copy block 8
Add a concise Setup information section to demonstration-inputs/product-page.html using the existing guide's content. Add a clear Read the setup guide link to setup-guide.html beside that information. Preserve setup-guide.html and customer-feedback.md. Do not publish anything. Read the edited page back and tell me where to open it.
Paste into: Claude Code

Open product-page.html in a browser, find the section and click its guide link.

Decide your own next agent job

Claude Code · Copy block 9
/agent-fit I want to improve [describe your work and desired result]. Help me decide whether an agent would be useful. Ask one question at a time and refine the next question from my answer.
Paste into: Claude Code

The interview asks up to five questions, then up to five more if a decision-changing fact remains unclear. A clear job can finish earlier. Creation and optional official tooling are separate choices. Anthropic's authoring components are linked in AGENT-FIT-INSTALL.md and the Skill's reference. The course Skills themselves are course-authored.

To adapt an existing community agent, open EXISTING-AGENTS.md. The five practical solutions from the course are collected in FIVE-PRACTICAL-SOLUTIONS.md, which points to the matching prompt for each problem.

Repair and completion prompts are beside this guide. A main-owned Markdown checklist is sufficient for progress. An HTML tracker is optional; live updates require reading changing status rather than showing a fixed page.
