Context Statusline Reminder
An exclusive resource for students of Arun's Claude Code Course.
A statusline is the small line Claude Code can show while you work. Its details vary by version and setup, so use this page as a decision reminder rather than copying an untested configuration.
What to show or check
- The current model.
- How full the context is.
- The current project folder.
The decision rule
When the session is around half full, pause and decide whether the remaining task still belongs in this session. If it does, write a concise HANDOFF.md before the work drifts. If it does not, hand off and start a clean session.
Use /context as the reliable fallback when you do not have a statusline configured.
See Where You Stand
This resource is one piece of a much bigger system.
Take the free Claude Code Readiness Quiz. It is 15 short situations, scored out of 100, and it tests how you handle a job rather than what you know about a tool, so you can take it without ever having opened Claude Code.
