Connected-App Practice Guide
This file is included in the Section 9 practice ZIP.
Use this guide with the connected-app lessons. Begin with the Notion and Canva feedback exercise. The Meta connection practice guide follows the two setup routes shown in the Meta connection lesson.
Prepare the feedback exercise
1. Use your Claude Code project from Section 8, with customer-feedback-analyzer available. The included folder supplies the same Skill and its reference file if you need a copy.
2. Open inputs/customer-feedback.md and copy the fictional feedback into a Notion practice page. Keep the twelve feedback IDs, F01 through F12.
3. Connect the Notion account that can open that page through the supported connector setup. Connect Canva before the design exercise. Check any paid-feature requirement beside the feature you choose.
First request
Read this Notion practice page: [paste its URL]. Return its title and all twelve feedback entries, retaining their IDs.
Use the returned text for the feedback-analysis task. If your existing Skill requests a file, save the fetched text as feedback-from-notion.md and supply that file to customer-feedback-analyzer. The method and the feedback IDs stay the same.
Save and continue the work
After checking the report, ask: Save this checked report as a subpage under my practice feedback page and return the saved page link.
For Canva, use the saved design method built in the lessons. Ask for the short decision deck and one-page action brief from the checked report. Open the returned design and continue editing there.
Practise the Meta connection
The Meta connection lesson shows a desktop custom connector and a Claude-assisted local project MCP. Both routes use Meta's official server address. Choose one route for your practice in the Meta connection practice guide.
Begin by asking Claude Code:
Find Meta's official Ads MCP documentation and show it to me first. Show the server address and the current setup instructions for Claude Code.
Open the official page before configuring the connection. The recording shows the instructor completing his own sign-in and checking the available tools. The recording stops before an account or campaign read. The practice guide includes optional read-only prompts for your own account and an Ads Manager comparison.
Enable Context7 for a documentation task
Ask Claude Code: Help me add Context7 using its current official Claude Code setup instructions. Then retrieve the relevant documentation for a library used in this project, including the installed version when available. Show the source before using the information for a change.
The setup source is https://context7.com/docs/clients/claude-code. Context7 supplies indexed software-library documentation, not every document on the internet. This prompt is a starting request, not a claim the connection has already been installed in your project.
Find connections for your own workflow
Describe one job in your own words, then ask:
This is my workflow: [where the information starts, the steps I repeat and the finished result I need]. Research the supported MCPs, connectors or CLIs that could help. Start with the providers' official routes, including routes outside the directory. Where needed, identify maintained third-party options. Explain the actions each route can perform and help me try one small useful result.
You can also use this approach when extending software you built with Claude Code. Ask Claude to research a suitable MCP implementation for that app and test one useful live action after adding it.
Vocabulary in a setup guide
The host is the app where you ask for work, here Claude Code. Its MCP client is the part that communicates with the MCP server. The server exposes supported tools and may use the destination app's API to perform an action.
For the presentation job: your request in Claude Code reaches the connected Canva tool, the app performs the supported design action and a result returns. The lecture explains this operation. These labels help when a setup guide uses them.
Files in this package
The package includes the fictional feedback, the existing feedback-analysis Skill and its reference, these starting prompts, three knowledge checks and the Meta connection practice guide. The questions match the current eleven-lecture revision.
