Local-File Comparison Demonstration

All three fictional quotes cover the same required white ceramic floor tile and all 400 square feet. Delivery time determines eligibility before total cost ranks the qualifying suppliers.

These fictional supplier quotes are practice material for Maya’s renovation-company example. They are not real offers or current market prices.

For optional practice, download and unzip the files. Copy only supplier-a.txt, supplier-b.txt and supplier-c.txt from the quotes folder into a fresh working folder. Give the agent that working folder and ask it to write comparison.md there. Keep reference/comparison.md and instructor-check.md outside the working folder so the agent does the comparison from the quotes. Keep the original download for another attempt.

Compare quotes for 400 square feet of the specified tile, delivered within 5 calendar days of ordering. Compare material cost plus delivery before tax. Exclude options that miss the deadline, then choose the lowest total among the eligible options. Ask for a source filename for every input and the arithmetic behind every total.

Ask the agent to work only in the practice folder. It should not contact suppliers, submit an order or send files anywhere. Inspect the result against the three quote files, including delivery times and the calculations.
